The Grand Hotel Malahide. Dublin's Best Airport hotel.

Airport hotels drum up images of engine noise & industrial surroundings. But not in Dublin. This is your view from my recommended Dublin Airport hotel.

This is the Grand Hotel in Malahide, a four star hotel just 15 minutes from Dublin Airport. It's so close to the airport, that many of Aer Lingus' pilots live in Malahide so you can grab a ride to the airport with one of them!

What makes Malahide perfect for your last night

Malahide is a gorgeous seaside village with a 12th century castle, marina, beach and sea walks for miles. It's a wealthy area with excellent restaurants and cozy pubs to enjoy one last relaxed night in Ireland before you fly home.

Check into the Grand Hotel, stroll down to the village. Have dinner and one last Guinness. Walk along the seafront and just wind down.

Stay By The Sea, Not The City

I don't recommend staying in Dublin City at all on your last night either. Parking is hard, city driving is difficult and it's just busy in general. I want you to leave Ireland with memories of our coast, not the trash in the city.

There are other ways to reduce travel day stress too - like when to return your rental car and timing your departure. I cover all of that in my make your flight home less stressful post.

About The Grand Hotel

The Grand is a 4 star, 200 bedroom hotel that is modern but vintage in style.

A sea of flowers greets you when you arrive and the hotel's restaurant is called Coast. Guess what you see out the window?

It's like they designed the hotel for flyers. It has a large indoor pool with steam room & sauna. Come here the morning of your flight and get in zen mode before the airport strips it from you.

Alternative for golfers

If you are a golfer, you may prefer to stay at the Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links, just five minutes down the beach. The scenery is even nicer from the hotel in Portmarnock, but I prefer Malahide because the village is nicer and has something for everyone.

But golfers usually only have one thing on the brain, so if you want to play 18 more holes in Ireland, then stay at Portmarnock.

Other Airport Hotels

If I haven't persuaded you here, then here are the best hotels right next to Dublin Airport, but the views will not be as pretty.
