The Sunday Session: Real Irish Trad Music With The Locals
Traditional Irish Music is getting harder to find in Dublin unfortunately. Yes, you'll hear it in Temple Bar & the Brazen Head, but that's Irish music performed for tourists, not by Irish people for Irish people.
We can only do this on Sundays because that's when these trad bands play. They're working during the week, Sunday is their day off.
That's how you know it's real & that's what makes it special. Hearing Irish ballads sung for the love of music, not by a tired paid journeyman singing Galway Girl for the fifth time today.

Irish Music
There's two types of traditional Irish music and we'll hear both on the tour.
Irish Traditional Music
This is instrumental and played with fiddle, tin whistle, uilleann pipes, bodhrán in jigs and reels. Toe tapping music!
Songs & Ballads
These are songs with stories behind them. Usually of our history, our battles, our emigration. But there are plenty of fun drinking songs too!
I'll explain the background of each song. You'll see that the crowd sing every word of every song. We all know the words to every song. Young, old, guys, girls. We're raised on these songs. It's our history & heritage.
The Tour
I can't tell you where we're going because I don't want them ruined! I've removed all mention of them from my website.
We'll meet in a central part of Dublin at 7pm on a Sunday and go to three pubs in Dublin filled with musicians playing Irish traditional music for an Irish audience.
These are authentic sessions with local musicians, so every night is different. Sometimes it's packed, sometimes more quiet & intimate.
I know I'm being secretive but you're going to have to trust me a bit here!
What to Expect
- 3 pubs, 3 hours, with Dublin stories during the walks between
- About 45 minutes at each pub listening to traditional music
- Plans stay flexible. Bands change and popular nights get busy
