The Smart Howth Strategy

Go to Howth Early or Go Late During The Week.

Howth is no secret in Dublin. 500k people came to this small village last year.

Some friends landed in DUB yesterday afternoon. I picked them up and we walked the Howth cliffs at 5pm.

The cliffs were empty. We had them all to ourselves. No fear of being pushed over the side by selfie sticks.

We finished the cliff walk in perfect time for dinner. No waiting for a table. There were just enough other diners to create an atmosphere while leaving the waiter with enough time to chat.

Dessert was an ice cream walking along the pier chatting to the local lads fishing about their lack of catch. Even the voracious Howth sea gulls were quiet.

If we had gone at noon, Howth would have been mobbed. Too busy to enjoy, photo bombers in every shot.

Go early or go late midweek. Not in the middle of the day or the weekend. Use this at every busy tourist spot.
