The Leinster Hotel Dublin

The Leinster is a 55 room gorgeously designed hotel in a more refined part of Dublin City Centre. Government buildings, art museums, parks and upscale neighborhoods are within a few minutes walk of the Leinster.
The Lobby & First Impressions
As soon as you walk in, you're not sure if you're in a hotel or an art gallery. It only opened in 2024 and the design that has gone into the Leinster is incredible.
I think back to growing up in Dublin and the boring staid hotels of that time. Now the new modern hotels in Dublin could be in architecture magazines and the Leinster is outstanding in that aspect.
There are over 300 pieces of original art from more than 80 artists in the hotel.
As my long time readers will know, I love lounging in a lobby. Many hotels these days are trying to monetize every square inch of their hotels and there's only seating in restaurants but I spent a leisurely 15 minutes waiting for my walking tour clients in the very comfortable chairs.
I talked to the receptionist about the hotel, she was extremely friendly and invited me to explore the hotel.

The Rooms
The Leinster has a mixture of rooms ranging from the tink Nook to the apartment size Rico Suite with its copper tub. Each one is superbly designed. I know that I keep complementing the design of the Leinster but it is what sets it apart. These are standard in each room.
- Complimentary high-speed WiFi
- Smart televisions with Netflix
- Hairdryer
- Overhead rain power shower
- Super king-sized bed
- The Leinster bathrobes
- Bluetooth sound dock
- Brooks & Co bathroom amenities
Restaurant & Bar
The Collins Club bar is to the left of the lobby and is a very stylish cocktail bar. This isn't a boring hotel bar. This is a place that I would go for a few drinks myself. In fact, I'm going to add it to my recommended stops if you're going to the Aviva Stadium for a concert.

They were serving breakfast when I took the elevator to the rooftop Jean-Georges Rooftop restaurant. The maitre-d was extremely friendly and took the time to explain that they serve Irish classics with fresh French and Southeast Asian flavors. My clients who ate there said that food was excellent and their breakfasts were so big they couldn't finish them. I love my breakfasts, best meal of the day, so I love to hear this.
The Jean-Georges has views over the streets of Dublin. In this area, they are graceful Georgian buildings.

Location & Getting Around
The Leinster Hotel is right next to Merrion Square and less than 10 minute walk to St Stephen's Green, Trinity College and everything you want to see in Dublin.
What I like is that is in a quiet area. Think parks not pubs. The Grand Canal is around the corner and it is a very under visited part of Dublin which is a shame. An evening stroll along the canal is fabulous.
I met some clients for my Dublin walking tour at the Leinster and we actually headed away from the centre, they said they wanted to see more of 'real' Dublin. We walked along the canal to Ranelagh and then over to Rathmines before looping back down across the canal to Camden Street and back into the city. At the end of our 3 hour tour, they said this was their favorite part of their time in Dublin.
Who Should Stay Here?
My clients were honeymooners and I can see why they chose this. Lazy mornings in bed, decadent breakfast overlooking the city, afternoon strolls around Dublin and cocktails at the Collins.
Irish people on staycations, concertgoers at the Aviva or visitors who want to see more of Dublin than just the tourist spots. Folks who have been to Dublin before and want to see a different area would really appreciate the Leinster too.
Check Availability
The Leinster is a small hotel and often booked out, so if it's available, I'd suggest book it straight away.
Similar Hotels in Dublin
- The Devlin in Ranelagh. Very similar stylish vibes in a local Dublin village. 15 minutes further out of town though.
- Number 31. Stylish but a bit more quirky than the Leinster. Also excellent.

Walking Tours Of Dublin
I do walking tours of Dublin City direct from your hotel. They are perfect for the day you arrive to help you get your bearings in this confusing 1000 year old city. My coastal Dublin walks show you the natural side of Dublin everyone misses.

Airport Access & Transfers
The Leinster Hotel is 14km from Dublin Airport.
Bus: The Aircoach Bus Stop is a ten minute walk from the Leinster, but if you're staying here, you're probably not taking a bus.
Taxi will take 30 minutes.
Private Airport Transfer: Costs about 25% more than taxis but well worth it to skip the taxi lines and have someone waiting for you. Check Transfer Rates.
