Quick Verdict
The Liffey Lounge got a fresh revamp in 2024, replacing the older T2 Lounge with updated interiors and a brighter layout. The seating is excellent and very relaxing preflight area. While it does have a barista, it really falls short with no hot food.
Fine if you already have access through your ticket or a lounge card, but I wouldn’t pay in or arrive early just for this. Think of it more as a calm waiting room with caffeine.

Where Is The Liffey Lounge?
You’ll find the Liffey Lounge in Terminal 2 on the same level as the 400 gates. It's a bit hidden so follow the signs and you’ll spot it where the old T2 Lounge used to be. If you’re flying to the US, go to 51st & Green Lounge after US Preclearance instead.
Who Can Access The Liffey Lounge?

Note: Your stay is capped at 2 hours, so plan accordingly.
Entrance Area
The entrance area is underwhelming. There's just a small sign outside. But inside, Aer Lingus staff the front desk and they always give a very friendly Irish Céad Mile Fáilte welcome
Food
I was amazed after the lounge 'improvements' that they took away the hot food. Now it's pastries, cereals, porridge, sandwiches cold meats and snacks only. What a shame. I often fly out of the Dublin airport in the morning and enjoyed the hot breakfast buffet. It actually made the lounge good value because an Irish Breakfast in the airport restaurants is €20 these days.
Disappointing.
Drinks
They have added a barista and a proper coffee machine, which should be mandatory in every lounge. Business class folks don't drink coffee from gas station machines.
I did like the local Irish company being highlighted for the hot chocolate. Aer Lingus are good at that.
There was lots of juices and a good selection of drinks on my visit. There is serve yourself alcohol. The Guinness is in a can. There is a two drink limit on alcohol but you're serving yourself.
Seating & Space
They did an excellent job with the seating and the spacing. Every time that I'm The Liffey Lounge, it does feel relaxed and it has different zones & vibes so you can find what you're looking for. There are floor to very high ceiling windows giving views out over the airfield.

The Main Floor
There's three areas on the main floor. There's a front area next to the entrance that you can see below. Against the wall are solo cocoon style seats. I like these.
In the middle of the main floor is the food service area and some high stools. I often sit at these if I am just grabbing a snack pre-flight and want to be near the refill stations. The plane spotter in me likes lookout at the planes.
The Upper Level
This is where you'll usually find me. Not many people seem to know it's there because it's always empty. It's officially the quiet zone and it has the showers too. I love the big shell seats. They're comfy and if you have some time to spend in the lounge, this is where to go. There's a small coffee dock up here too so you don't have to walk downstairs.
Wi-Fi & Power
The wifi was fine, to be honest I forgot to do a speed test. I was too busy trying to rearrange a canceled flight! Power outlets everywhere.
Views
One of the best features is the full airfield views with nice natural light.
Crowds and Atmosphere
I've only been there in the morning. I stop in for a coffee while waiting for my Preclearance slot to open up. Since most US travelers go to the 51st & Green lounge, I haven't seen The Liffey Lounge busy. T2 is a quiet terminal in general. Overall, the vibe is quiet, professional, and often filled with solo travellers.
Other Lounges at Dublin Airport

- 51st&Green (after US Preclearance): That’s the best lounge in the airport for me.
- Martello Lounge : I haven't been there in a long time. I have a flight via Qatar at the end of this year and will write a full review then.
- T1 Lounge: It doesn't have the views of The Liffey Lounge, but it does have hot food!

Final Verdict: Should You Use the Liffey Lounge?
If you’re flying out of T2 and want a light bite and a bit of calm, maybe a shower, then it's a good space for that. Just don’t come hungry, and check that your flight doesn’t go through US Preclearance.
