The Trad Music Session: Real Irish With The Locals
Traditional Irish Music is getting harder to find in Dublin unfortunately. Yes, you'll hear it in Temple Bar & the Brazen Head, but that's Irish music performed for tourists, not by Irish people for Irish people.
That's how you know it's real & that's what makes it special. Hearing Irish ballads sung for the love of music, not by a tired journeyman singing Galway Girl for the fifth time today.

I only do this tour on Thursday & Sundays. That's when the best musicians play!
Irish Music
There's two types of traditional Irish music and we'll hear both on the tour.
Traditional Irish Music
This is instrumental and played with fiddle, tin whistle, uilleann pipes, bodhrán in jigs and reels. Toe tapping music! We just call it Trad.
Thursday's session has more of this type of music.
Songs & Ballads
These are songs with stories behind them. Usually of our history, our battles, our emigration. But there are plenty of fun drinking songs too!
I'll explain the background of each song. You'll see that the crowd sing every word of every song. We all know the words to every song. Young, old, guys, girls. We're raised on these songs. It's our history & heritage.
Sunday's session has more songs and ballads.
The Tour
I can't tell you where we're going because I don't want them ruined! I've removed all mention of them from my website. I know I'm being secretive but you're going to have to trust me a bit here!
We'll meet in a central part of Dublin and go to authentic sessions with local musicians, so every night is different. Sometimes it's packed, sometimes more quiet & intimate. Sometimes plans change on the night, musicians are artists!
Thursday Sessions
We'll hear more instrumental traditional music with fiddles, whistles, and toe-tapping reels. But it can change each night!
Tour: 2 hours. Cost €125 up to 4 people.
Sunday Sessions
Sunday has more ballads and songs. It's more lively and the craic is mighty.
Tour: 3 hours. Cost €175 up to 4 people.

We'll confirm the actual meeting time 3 days before your tour. It's usually 8pm for Thursday and 7pm for Sunday. But bands change schedules constantly, so we stay flexible.
